Home Trends in 2024

Dallas County Realtor, Amber Miller of Main Street Realty shares what design experts are predicting will be the latest home trends and colors in 2024.

COLOR OF THE YEAR

Sherwin William's 2024 Color of the Year, is "Persimmon". A peachy terracotta shade that is cheerful and calming.

Valspar's Color of the Year is a beautiful shade of light blue, "Renew Blue". Blue is predicted to be a very hot color this year for bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry rooms.

Dutch Boy's 2024 Color of the Year is, "Ironside". This is a deep olive color that is nature inspired.

How would you incorporate these colors in your current home? The moody green tone was very popular in 2023, it's no surprise to see it again this year.

Things Are Warming Up!

Forbes predicts that the cold all white homes are going out of style and neutral warm tones are 'in'. Expect to see creamy whites paired with rich brown and warm neutrals. ( move over gray, brown in BACK) Designers are adding texture with wallpaper, ratan furniture, and fluted cabinetry. Stonework is also being added to homes for feature walls and kitchen backsplash.

It's fun to see what designers predict will be "IN" for 2024, but I think it's also important to emphasize that your home should be a reflection of you. What you like, what makes you feel good or comfortable. I personally like to mix antiques and vintage items with new. Most are antiques that were passed down from my grandma to me. I love looking around my home and seeing little things from her home, in mine. The best part of buying a house is adding your personal touch to make it HOME.
