Friends don't let friends request showings on random real estate websites. In my opinion, it's better to do your research and find a great local agent who is going to work hard for you. One that has negotiation skills and a reputation for getting things done correctly. Set up your search parameters with that agent before you house hunt and let them set up showings for homes that you qualify for.

1.Ask around! Chances are you will get a great referral from someone you trust.

2. Interview agents and see who you connect with. You will be spending quite a bit of time together. Make sure it's someone that listens to your needs/wants and understands your situation.

3. Ask detailed questions about the local market and how the home buying process works. Aim to work with someone who is experienced.

4. Review the agents social media presence. Do they have creative marketing? Do they share other client reviews? Do they put effort into helping others and sharing helpful information?
